The Program
Wyoming Rising is a premier statewide initiative that brings together Wyoming’s top rising high school seniors for an intensive summer experience combining elite basketball competition with leadership development, mentorship, and service.
We exist to do three things exceptionally well:
COMPETE - Provide Wyoming high school basketball players the opportunity to compete at the highest-level and gain real exposure.
LEAD - We are building lasting connections that inspire young leaders to stay engaged with Wyoming long after graduation
CONNECT - From our most rural areas to are the Capitol City, we’re telling the story of Wyoming high school basketball, past, present, and future.

The AAU basketball experience is a high-level, travel-based competitive environment where Wyoming’s top ten rising senior basketball players train and compete against top talent from across the region and country. During the three week residency, players participate in intensive practices and weekend tournaments—often in major markets like Phoenix or Las Vegas—gaining exposure to college coaches

Leadership Academy

The Maury Brown Leadership Academy is a structured, immersive experience designed to develop confident, capable young leaders alongside their athletic growth. Through sessions with Wyoming business leaders, public officials, coaches, and mentors, participants learn practical skills like communication, decision-making, accountability, and teamwork. The experience goes beyond classroom-style learning—athletes engage in real conversations, problem-solving, and service, building relationships and perspectives that help them lead on their teams, in their schools, and eventually in their communities.
