Nominations open December 1: Help Us Find Wyoming’s Next Rising Leaders
We’re looking for more than great players—we’re looking for great people
very town in Wyoming has them.
The kid who stays late after practice.
The one who makes their teammates better.
The one who leads without being asked.
The one people trust.
We’re looking for those athletes.
Wyoming Rising is now accepting nominations for its inaugural class—ten rising high school seniors from across the state who will be selected to participate in a premier summer basketball and leadership academy.
This is not an open tryout.
It’s a nomination-based selection process designed to identify student-athletes who represent the best of Wyoming—not just in talent, but in character, work ethic, and leadership.
We’re asking coaches, teachers, community members, and peers to help us find them.
What We’re Looking For
Nominees should demonstrate:
High-level basketball ability and competitiveness
Strong work ethic and coachability
Leadership—on and off the court
Character and integrity
A willingness to grow and represent Wyoming
You don’t have to be the highest scorer in the state.
You do have to be someone others respect.
What Selected Athletes Will Experience
Those selected will:
Train daily in a high-performance environment
Compete in major AAU tournaments in Phoenix, Las Vegas, and Denver
Participate in the Maury Brown Leadership Academy
Build relationships with peers and mentors from across Wyoming
Be featured in statewide storytelling and media content
Why It Matters
This isn’t just about exposure.
It’s about connection.
We want these athletes to leave the program not only better players—but more confident leaders, more connected to their state, and more aware of the opportunities around them.
How to Nominate
Nominations are simple.
If you know someone who belongs in this program, don’t assume someone else will nominate them.
Do it.
Because the right ten athletes will shape more than a team—they’ll help define what Wyoming Rising becomes.
